“I found Elena’s journal.”
“I’m so sorry we didn’t believe you.” — “I’m still kind of having trouble believing it.”
— ”And yet you still came with me to help break into a car. Thanks.”

And everything you love will burn up in the light
He stares at her across the fire, ignoring the fight their brothers were engaging in. He could care less what their siblings wanted. He only cared about her. The rest of them can all go to hell for all that mattered.
“This isn’t our battle. This is theirs. Leave them to it!”
She looks back at him, unmoving. Her face was a mask, but he could tell that behind those brown eyes, so dark that they could be black, that she was torn.
“Come with me, Faye,” he urges. “We can leave all of this behind. This is their war, not ours.”
Damon finally notices them and turns away from his shouting match with Klaus to call out to his sister.
“Faye!”
She flinches, it’s subtle, but Kol could tell. She breaks her glance from him to look towards her brother. Damon’s expression is stern and impatient. She turns back to look at him.
“They’re family, Kol. You must understand that. Family above all.”
The flickering flames cast shadows across her face. He shouldn’t be so surprised by her decision, but it hits him hard just the same.
“I choose them.”
She moves finally, taking a step towards Damon who held his hand outstretched to hers. He shakes his head, feeling the tendrils of anger, rejection and fury overwhelming him.
“Then you can go to hell, too.”

Diana: Oh, I was too busy kissing him…
